CHANGING DIRECTIONS™—COUNSELING SERVICES (More commonly known as Equine Assisted Activity Therapy)
Our farm setting offers a tranquil, peaceful setting for counseling appointments, whether they are private office practice or utilizing equine assisted therapy. Appointments are always kept confidential, with your goals a top priority. Fee for services is private pay, with insurance coverage details the responsibility of client. Some grant funding may apply. This program builds confidence, and improves long-term impact of treatment of clients with behaviors, emotions, and relationships. Observable outcomes are seen on the very first session. Participates are able to make immediate changes. This service is a short-term therapeutic intervention.
Referrals can be made by calling the farm office at 419-833-1308 to discuss treatment and appointment schedules.
Areas of counseling are, but not limited to:
- Addictive behaviors
- Parenting difficulties
- Underachieving students
- Eating Disorders and children and obesity
- Victims of Abuse/domestic violence
- Family relationships
- Post-traumatic stress disorder (veterans, abuse)
- Anger management

Referrals are made from school teachers, social service agencies, hospitals, court systems, family members, churches and a host of other resources that partner with Serenity Farm.
