Summer Program: Lucky Learners

“Watching my grandchildren at your Lucky Learners program was awesome. Your staff is very professional, friendly and knowledgeable. I know my grandchildren left each session feeling special. Thanks for giving young children the opportunity to learn through horses.”

“My children thoroughly enjoyed their class times at Serenity Farm. Not only did they get to ride the horses (this was, of course, their favorite part), but they also learned the grooming essentials, how to keep a stall clean, and what horses like to eat. The volunteers at Serenity Farm ensured that it was educational as well as a whole lot of fun! The volunteers were great with the children and one can tell, they have a genuine love for what they do! My children and I will definitely be back next summer! Thank you so much for a wonderful rewarding experience!”

Field Trips

I would like to offer the following testimonial from my perspective as a School Administrator: At Wildwood Environmental Academy we schedule field trips more frequently than most schools. Our students benefit from hands on activities and field experiences at least once a month. With so many trips it is important that these experiences are relevant and meaningful. When our students visited Serenity Farm they came back to me expressing an excitement and desire to return as soon as possible. They were able to tell me all about the team building exercises and the way they worked together. The chaperones raved about the staff and the facility. One chaperone even proclaimed that this was the best field trip they had ever been on. The staff at Serenity Farm encouraged the students and challenged each of them at their own ability level. This is a trip that was well worth the time out of the classroom.

From my perspective as a parent: My daughter had attended a field trip to Serenity Farm and came home so excited she insisted that we find some way for her to return. I was sold on the Manes & Make-up program as soon as we read the flyer together. This program addressed such issues as self esteem and self image. My daughter loved the whole experience and was able to overcome her shyness and enjoy interacting with the other girls and the instructors. She performed her newly acquired skills with great pride and confidence at the closing performance. The staff was knowledgeable and warm. I was completely at ease leaving my child there for the program as the facility is so well cared for and the commitment to safety is evident. What a blessing this program was to us. I have already signed both of my children up for future programs. I have recommended Serenity Farm to many other families and will continue to spread the word.

Lucky Riders

Two years ago, our son suffered a traumatic loss and change of life. His grandma and grandpa were killed in front of his very eyes. In an instant he lost so much and in the years since he has been diagnosed Autistic with non-verbal abilities, he has a Traumatic Brain Injury and suffers from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

For our entire family Serenity Farm has and continues to be a blessing. To be in the presence of such beautiful and well trained horses, not to mention the top quality staff and volunteers has given our son joy and he has discovered his voice as well. He continues to improve at school and with his various therapies but all who know him see that his “horse time” has been the key to his growth. What do you say about a group of people and animals that have brought pure joy back to your son? We tell you they reside and work at Serenity Farm. We have been hugged through our tears and we never find ourselves explaining our son’s behavior, for one hour a week our family is accepted unconditionally. At Serenity Farm there are no disabilities, only abilities!

12 Step Workshop 2011

“This was excellent for team building! It makes you stop and think!”

“I felt so comfortable with staff and facility. Really learned so much from Serenity Farms. Very professional!”

“I opened my eyes to learn the horses really do interact in the therapy process for addictions.”

“I highly recommend this workshop. Knowledgeable, competent instructors!”

” Long ride, short stay, but huge asset to gain from this experience.”

” This workshop was great for giving a voice to the voiceless. It is a therapy where speech is meaningless. Brings truth to “actions speak louder than words.”

“I just wanted to tell you that I was impressed with your presentation. I admire your dedication to your work and the enormous mission you have undertaken. Our community is blessed to have such a progressive, conscientious and determined individual to make a difference in the lives of so many others.

Your stories are touching — both heartwarming and heartbreaking — They awaken us to the suffering and terrible consequences of poor choices and life-threatening habits that have seeped into our society. Even our leaders are stuck and can barely get up out of the mire of fear to put a stop to these horrific actions. You must be a very courageous individual to step up where others have given up. I commend you.

I am glad that there are many rewards for doing what you do. I wish you many more successes to help you and others jump over the barrels of obstacles that stand in your path; may you always get to the finish line successfully with poise and grace and renewal of spirit to do it again!

Tell Bandit I also appreciate what he does. Just a little whisper of gratitude! That can go a long way.

Thanks again, Deb. I hope to visit the Farm someday. I’d love to bring my grandchildren and perhaps my family members.”

“Our daughter, who is 16, with special needs, cound not ride a 2-wheel bicycle without leaning to one side. She is now more centered and more aware of her body space, and we attribute it all to Lucky Riders (therapuetic riding) at Serenity Farm. “
